What Is an STL File?

STL (Standard Tessellation Language) is the most widely used file format in 3D printing. It describes the surface geometry of a 3D object as a mesh of triangles — and virtually every slicer and 3D printer on the market can read it.

When you use our text to STL converter, we take the vector outlines of your chosen font, extrude them into solid 3D geometry, and export that geometry as a clean, print-ready STL file. The result is a proper 3D model you can open in Cura, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or any other slicer.
